I am delighted to welcome you to our website, where I hope you will find much interest in matters relating to the Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Degrees in Leicestershire & Rutland.
The resumption of our face-to-face Lodge meetings during last autumn was a welcome step towards normality, and I say a big thank you to the members of my Provincial Executive team and the members of all our Lodges for the hard work they've been doing over the many long months since March 2020 in readiness for the meetings to re-commence.
I am humbled by the wonderful charitable efforts of our brethren throughout the worst of the pandemic which brought so much relief and happiness to so many masons and non-masons across Leicestershire and Rutland, not to mention the ongoing kind and generous donations from Lodges and their memberships, which are the bedrock of our charitable disbursements.
We have good reason to be optimistic now that the pattern and rhythm of our masonry is settling down, and I'm delighted to report that our membership levels in our two Orders in this Province have thankfully held up very well whilst the pandemic has been causing so much uncertainty in our lives, and I'm very pleased to see a new growth of members with many more in the pipeline keen to join us.
The Mark Degree is the third largest in English Freemasonry and enjoys excellent working relations with the Craft and Royal Arch. Just as in olden times, the Mark should be viewed as an essential step in a Freemason's progression. Membership of the Mark Degree is open to all Craft brethren who have been Master Masons for at least four weeks. Full details of the Mark and the Royal Ark Mariner Degrees are available in leaflet format on this website. In addition, you can browse both the latest and all the back issues, of the Magic of the Mark magazine containing interesting news on Mark and Royal Ark Mariner events and happenings in the Province.
Sincerely and fraternally
Phillip J. Mann
Provincial Grand Master
